The Ghost Research & International Mystery Union is a Paranormal Research Group that was started in the city of Toronto, Ontario Canada for the sole purpose to Explain the Unexplainable.

Born in Scarborough, Ontario (a borough east of downtown Toronto) Matthew Deacon, the Lead Investigator and the creator of The G.R.I.M Union was fascinated with the world of the paranormal from a very young age.

“I remember receiving a gift from my father, Unexplained Mysteries of the World, a book that documented some of the most publicized unexplained mysteries this planet has ever produced, since then I have always been hooked.” – M.Deacon

With a curiosity for everything mysterious, Matt had to find a way to involve himself within this world. 2004 was the beginning to the involvement starting with online research and many more books being read and added to the library.

New technology followed by multiple T.V programs gave Matt the idea and passion to create his very own Paranormal Investigation Group. So early in 2006 The Dark Legion was formed. Teamed with Shannon and a few friends, the group investigated a number of residential homes and a few cemeteries and parks. Troubled by work issues, availability problems and a lack of motivation, a new team, a new name and a new direction was needed. So in the summer of 2008, The G.R.I.M Union was established.

Now with the new focus, that summer of 2008, a number of close to 20 investigations were completed by Matt and Shannon (sometimes with the help of a few past members), usually in some of the Greater Toronto Area’s most popular Haunted locations and dark cemeteries.

The identity is concrete, the message is clear; The G.R.I.M Union was established to help those who struggle with what they feel is Paranormal. The investigations are being completed, the research is being documented, new members are being added, new chapters are forming worldwide and most importantly… questions are being answered for those who need the help…
